Carlisle 6th Grader nominated...





Carlisle Middle School Student, 6th Grader Brody Turner, was nominated for a program called People to People Student Ambassador Program.  After being nominated, Brody had to go through an intensive interview and acceptance procedure that he passed and was accepted into the program.  Along with working to be apart of this awesome program, Brody enjoys playing football and skateboarding in his spare time.  He is an active young man looking to represent Carlisle Schools in this opportunity.

The People to People Student Ambassador program promotes international understanding while building leadership skills among America’s youthPresident Dwight D. Eisenhower founded the organization in 1956. He believed that if people from different cultures could come together in peace and friendship, so eventually would countries. Since its founding, People to People has launched many international programs, including Sister Cities and Project HOPE.

Brody is looking to attend the trip to Western Canada with the program.  The 11-day experience includes meetings with government officials, interaction with other students my age, educational activities, and home stays with host families.

Brody told us, "Personally, I am looking forward to broadening my perspectives of the world and gaining a better understanding of Western Canadian history. As an Ambassador, I can also earn high school and college credit because of the many educational elements in my program."

People to People Student Ambassador ProgramThe program tuition is $4,489.00, which includes all transportation, accommodations, meals and educational activities. Brody is looking for contributors to donate to help him reach his goal.  Brody and his family need's the community and businesses help to make this dream possible.  Any amount would be appreciated and Brody plans to share his journal and experiences with contributors upon his return.  We will also look to run a story upon Brody's return on his adventures.
