Dear Candidate:
On Thursday, October 22nd, the Advanced Placement Government class will be sponsoring a Meet the Candidates Night at Carlisle High School. Each council and trustee candidate will be given 5 minutes to introduce themselves and state reasons why they should be chosen on Election Day. Later, Carlisle Board of Education candidates will be given the opportunity to introduce themselves and then answer questions from student moderators. The questions will come from Carlisle Local School District staff and residents.
We will begin at 6:00 p.m. in our Choir/Lecture Room at the high school. The order of speakers for the first hour will be as follows:
Carlisle City Council Ward 1 Candidates
Carlisle City Council Ward 2 Candidates
Carlisle City Council Ward 3 Candidates
Franklin Township Trustee Candidates
At 7:00 p.m., we will begin the question/answer session for the five school board candidates vying for 3 spots. We will end our night with the two school board candidates vying for 1 spot at approximately 8:00 p.m. There may be a possibility of combining the school board session into one large group. We will let you know as soon as possible.
If you are interested in participating, please e-mail me at matt.bishop@carlisleindians.org confirming your intentions. This will allow me to send more information to you if necessary. I will send information about the format of the question/answer session to board candidates as soon as it is finalized.
Of course, please do not hesitate to contact me either through e-mail, phone, or stop by my office at the high school if you have any questions. As a resident of this great school district and city and a former elected official, I applaud your effort to serve our community. It is great to see so many citizens interested in moving our town in a positive direction.
Best regards,
Matt M. Bishop, Ph.D.
Building Principal
